Had a wonderful, mellow 4th with my neighbors Stacey & Brian! We watched the parade of people (some of them drunk) riding their bikes or walking by (we're across the street from the beach)in their bikinis or trunks... Had a great BBQ, played Crazy 8s and watched the fireworks off the Queen Mary. We usually have a bunch of people over for a party, but keeping it low key this year suited my mood. We always see some HOT bods, and this year was no exception! FUN! sunny

    It's around 90°F (32°C).

But it's not as bad as it was around NYC the last few days I guess. Living near the mountains and some lakes helps a lot.

I don't care. It's a shame that Mel's private life has to end up all over the media, for his colleagues, for the fans of his colleagues, for his family, and even for himself. But I'm not missing a Jodie Foster picture just because of him. It's the pictures that he makes without her that I may not see, but then again, I like good movies. Smile

Sept. 29, 2009. Woody Allen, David Lynch, Martin Scorsese, Luc and Jean-Pierre Dardenne, and Terry Gilliam have added their names to the petition, organized by France’s Société des Auteurs et Compositeurs Dramatiques (SACD), demanding the release of Palme d’Or and Academy Award-winning filmmaker Roman Polanski, currently in the custody of Swiss authorities..

    A very complicated history ...

    I couldn't agree more.

Stupid websites like TMZ, RadarOnline, Perez, etc. have a lot to do how personal stuff of celebrities is getting made public.

And of course it's sensationalism pure for those sites. They're just so greedy and like to see the downfall of the celebs.

For heaven's sake, we shouldn't have to read about the personal mistakes, problems and troubles of the famous people. They should also have the right to deal with those things only in private and with their families, relatives, friends but not with the whole world.

Look at the recent Jodie incident with the 17-year-old. That was nothing, but RadarOnline had to report about it big time and paint Jodie as the "bad guy" who lost it, etc. etc. Luckily that story disappeared very quickly and in the end it wasn't a big story. It's just so ridiculous and so unimportant.

It's already forgotten by a lot with all the reports about Mel Gibson, Lindsay Lohan, Melissa Etheridge and Roman Polanski.

I can so understand Jodie that she keeps her private life private and only talks to the press when she has a film to promote. I love her a lot for that.

PS: I don't care about Polanski either to be honest. I'm a bit sick of the media and all their reporting about those celebs. Sadly it's not about the work of an actor or singer anymore, it's about the private stuff/problems of them. And even the normal mainstream press has become like the gossip sites.

I agree as well. The general public has become so celebrity obsessed, it's insane. The media has definitely changed! They feed into this voyeuristic need to know about people's personal lives. I for one would like to keep the Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan's of the world OFF MY TV! But then I don't watch those crap reality tv shows either... Shocked

I'd rather read a book. study

I'm not the kind of Mel fan who goes to see everything he does. I've never seen any of the Lethal Weapon movies. I see them based on my taste in movies and if it seems like something would like. I will of course see the Beaver, as I consider it a Jodie Foster movie with Mel along for the ride... I just really don't care about other people's drama, I have enough going on in my own life. Yeah, free Roman Polanski or not. It's none of my business!
