What up JF freaks? Good idea Eugene, I think I'll dash off to the store for some champagne to go w/ my popsicles. A Cham Cham (Champagne and Chambord YUM!) and a raspberry popsicle. Sounds positively delicious!

Just an interesting video I saw on CNN, a couple of nights ago. I'm always interested in what the media reports on "new technologies" to aid in "mind reading." According to a few recently declassified documents, this report is only about, say…… 10 years behind the times.
http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/tech/2010/08/09/levs.step.toward.terrorist.mind.cnn?iref=allsearch
Researchers at Northwestern University take a step toward reading terrorists' minds. CNN's Josh Levs explains.
I am always reminded by one of the presenters of the 9/11 commission that Americans' imaginations are failing them in being able to conjure the possibilities that the enemies of our personal freedoms have to cause chaos. If we all continue to say "that's impossible" when presented with information that seems too sci-fi oriented, I'm hoping we don't have another big surprise coming to our shores. There won't have to be actual grand attacks if they can cause enough mental chaos and apathy.
One very good source of keeping abreast of some of these issues is http://www.fas.org/blog/secrecy/ and
http://mindjustice.org/.
G'day and GOOD LUCK!!!! :!:

Attended a cool event at the Long Beach Museum of Art this morning, called:
YOUR BRAIN ON ART: AN ADULT EDUCATION DAY FOR THE INNER CHILD IN ALL OF US
August 14 · 8:00am - 12:00pm
Location Long Beach Museum of Art
Created By
Long Beach Museum of Art
The Docent Council of the Long Beach Museum of Art invites you to Celebrate Sixty with us. Experience your brain on art with a date to create. In conjunction with our 60th anniversary, participants will learn about the history of the Museum and gain insight into important artworks collected by the Long Beach Museum of Art since 1950.
Tour the exhibitions to experience a visual history of LBMA. Demystify the art making process of ...ceramics by viewing a wheel-throwing and glaze demo by local artist Ysabel Gray. Learn about artist's books by making one of your own with local artist and LBMA staffer Sue Ann Robinson. Take home a souvenir by entering our opportunity drawing for an original artwork by Ysabel Gray and local textile artist Elena Levine (winner must be present at time of drawing).

My friends bailed on me, but I went by myself and had a blast! They had a nice breakfast for us and the museum has fantastic ocean views!

The Long Beach Museum of Art and its Fundraising Affiliate, Phoenix, invite you to join us as we celebrate 60 years of collecting and exhibiting art. This event will include a silent auction, tapas dining, a hosted bar, access to our Celebrating Sixty exhibitions, dancing and a live musical performance by Magical Mystery Tour: A Tribute to The Beatles. 60's attire is preferred.
I want to see it, Leslie!

I'm sure it will be a swell soiree! You forgot to mention that it's $175 per person, $125 of which is tax deductible. Nice write off, but with not working right now, I don't see it. Sorry!

Love the art gallery emoticon! While I can't bring the museum to you, I did document some cool art on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood yesterday that I can share. This is part of the Gibson Guitar Town Sunset Blvd, 26 10ft guitars painted by artists from all over. The exhibit will be on Sunset for about 6 months, they had a block party last Thursday to kick it off. My friend Lawrence and I cruised around, he would park sometimes illegally, whilst I jumped out to photograph the guitars! If I knew how to post them here, I would.

Do you have a photobucket acct or snapfish?
You can upload all your pics there, then use the properties from there to post them on the forum.
