Gibson Rocks Sundance
Gibson Guitar once again will provide a private VIP retreat for music and movie stars at the Gibson Music Lounge during the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, January 20-23 in Park City, Utah.
The Gibson Music Lounge at the House of Blues Foundation Room, which is located at 268 Main Street in Park City, will offer daytime retreats and a hot spot where celebrity guests and film industry executives can network, rock out, and check out guitars from the Gibson and Epiphone collection. As the festival began, guitar hero Jonny Lang popped in to check out a few guitars, as did Jonathan Garcia, a member of the U.S. national speed skating team and a huge Gibson guitar fan.
On Thursday night, Gibson sponsored the Make-a-Wish Guitar Legends Benefit Concert and donated two signed guitars for the silent auction. The concert featured a host of big names like Jeff “Skunk” Baxter (Steely Dan and The Doobie Brothers), Kenny Aronoff (Smashing Pumpkins, John Mellencamp), Jonny Lang (Grammy winner), Guy Pratt (Pink Floyd), Ronnie Vanucci (The Killers), Fran Sheehan and Barry Goodro (of the band Boston) and Mike Mangini (The World’s Fastest Drummer).
Friday’s entertainment will see a concert by Pussycat Dolls with Carmen Electra. On Saturday night, San Francisco rockers Third Eye Blind are the featured entertainment. On Sunday, Slash will host the Slasher Films Press Conference and VIP Cocktail Party that will be presented by Gibson Guitar.
The Gibson Music Lounge at the House of Blues Foundation Room is sure to be one of the most popular spots in town during the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.
