Would You Rather…? The Giambattisti Valli Haute Couture vs. The Silence of the Lambs Moth in Mouth Edition

Post  Eugene on Sun Jul 08, 2012 7:33 pm

Designers can get inspiration from literally anything–model muses, pet cats, childhood toys, Oscar-winning Jodie Foster dramas? The latter may have been the case (but probably wasn’t) for Giambattista Valli, whose haute couture collection featured some very The Silence of the Lambs-esque styling. Don’t worry, there weren’t any coats constructed of human flesh–but there were some butterfly mouth-pieces that were extremely reminiscent of the famous

SotL “death’s head moth” cover art that used to haunt me on my weekly childhood trips to Blockbuster Video.

Not that Giambattisti necessarily has a thing for cannibalistic crime flicks–after all, his entire (gorgeous) couture collection was littered with references to nature, from garden florals to grassy dresses. But maybe he occasionally indulges in some tasty fava beans and a nice chianti. We kid, we kid.
